Job Description

This is a challenging opportunity to lead the Government of Canada - Western in implementing sustainable practices and community development initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for allocating resources, establishing departments, and coordinating work across regions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote environmental sustainability and community engagement.
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, non-profit organizations, and local communities.
  • Liaise with senior staff to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Cultivate partnerships to advance green economy sector goals.
  • Oversee the establishment of policies and programs aligned with corporate social responsibility principles.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., ecology, environmental science).
  • At least 3 years of experience in a leadership position, preferably in the green economy sector.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization in official functions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in budget management, with a focus on allocating resources to achieve organizational objectives.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively, with tight deadlines and multiple priorities.
Additional Requirements

The successful candidate will also require:

  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for regular travel within Canada and internationally.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, and MS Word.
Salary and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $150,000 - $250,000 per year, commensurate with experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
