Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced sales professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain sales, with a focus on intermodal, final mile transportation, warehousing, drayage, and transload experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop new business opportunities and convert existing accounts to meet or exceed revenue targets
  • Identify and qualify new business prospects, schedule customer meetings, and develop strategic solutions to grow revenue
  • Educate customers on technology solutions to provide tracking, pricing, and reporting capabilities
  • Collaborate with operations to establish standard operating procedures (SOPs) for meeting customer expectations
  • Plan quarterly business reviews (QBRs) with customers to review business trends and performance
  • Apply sales strategies gained from sales training to identify areas where Challenger Motor Freight can be implemented
  • Participate in joint customer calls with peers and counterparts to promote our logistics capabilities
  • Generate sales leads by networking, cold-calling prospects, and building relationships as part of a coordinated sales strategy
  • Create sales strategies by gathering market information, analyzing opportunities, and documenting sales methodology
  • Prepare presentations and deliver to prospective clients
  • Maintain accurate customer files
  • Work with operations to address issues with scheduled shipments

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in supply chain sales
  • Intermodal, final mile transportation, warehousing, drayage, and transload experience is a must
  • Operational knowledge, including various roles within transportation, would be beneficial
  • Solid network and client base to call upon and demonstrated success selling in a third-party (3PL) and asset environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to resolve problems in a timely fashion
  • Considerable tact, courtesy, and diplomacy are required when dealing with customers, either existing or new
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proven experience in warehousing and transportation, with a desire to grow professionally
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office, Windows environment, and CRM (e.g., Salesforce) are key to succeeding in this role
  • Business development focused
  • Demonstrated customer relationship skills
  • Able to work deadlines in a high-transactional environment
  • Ability to champion business needs in a collaborative manner to colleagues
  • Results-focused
