About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Territory Development Specialist to join our team in Edmonton, Heritage Division. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and account penetration within an assigned territory.

Job Description

Achieving maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned territory, market segment, and supplier brand is a critical aspect of this role. You will effectively sell our company's products/services and provide excellent customer service to fulfill the potential of our suppliers and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain regular communication with on-premise customers to cultivate strong relationships and ensure satisfaction with our services.
  • Analyze, plan, establish, and maintain an efficient daily call pattern in your assigned territory to drive productivity and results.
  • Achieve assigned monthly quotas and placement objectives by leveraging your sales skills and expertise.
  • Conduct thorough analysis of each account to identify priority selling, promotional, and merchandising opportunities.
  • Keep accurate records of sales, competitive activity, and payment performances of all accounts in your territory.
  • Stay up-to-date with major trends and directions in the industry and describe these trends associated with specific markets, discussing our organization's position and plans regarding key product trends.
  • Install and maintain point-of-sale materials within accounts that are clean and current.
  • Ensure order information is captured accurately and work with our sales system to conduct day-to-day sales order entry.
  • Assist customers with inventory management responsibilities, including product availability, new product placement, and stock rotation.
  • Participate in sales projects, account evaluations, proposals, presentations, and other sales-related activities.
  • Attend sales meetings, on-site training, and winery/distillery tours to stay educated on company policy and industry developments.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications:

  • A High School Diploma or GED is required, while a Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field is preferred.
  • You must be able to maintain a valid and current driver's license.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and experience with Customer Relation Management (CRM) systems is essential.
  • You should be a goal-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to calculate discounts are necessary.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills are required to communicate with direct customers and internal teams effectively.
  • Ability to travel is mandatory.
