Job Overview

Flex-N-Gate, a leading manufacturer and supplier of automotive components, is seeking a skilled Set-up Technician to join their team. As a vital member of our production team, you will be responsible for installing and setting up moulds, moulding machines, and developing injection processes to produce high-quality parts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and set up moulds using proper rigging techniques, cranes, hand tools, and equipment
  • Process and troubleshoot injection molding machines of various sizes based on material and part being produced
  • Start tools/machines, diagnose moulding problems, and conduct initial troubleshooting during production
  • Develop and modify robot programs to handle parts without causing damage to equipment or parts
  • Monitor production for accuracy and efficiency, working with quality inspectors to ensure part quality and performance
  • Perform minor electrical and mechanical repairs and adjustments to machines/tools, notifying supervisors when major service is required
  • Record and maintain records as required
  • Promote safety by adhering to related policies and procedures

Requirements

  • Grade 12
  • Ability to operate a crane
  • Able to drive a forklift
  • Working knowledge of plastic injection moulding
  • Good mechanical aptitude
