About the Role:

Sony Pictures Imageworks is seeking a skilled Rigger to join our team. As a Rigger, you will be responsible for creating 3D character rigs and animation interface controls for skeletal motion systems and body/facial deformations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement 3D character rigs and animation interface controls
  • Develop utility scripts and core software tools to streamline the character setup process
  • Meet schedules and show deadlines, participate in dailies, rounds, and team reviews of work in progress
  • Interact with production, supervisors, and team/peers to problem-solve and share information related to show/assigned tasks
  • Decipher and follow through on work in progress, dailies, briefings/notes, and feedback

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of applicable software platforms, including LINUX, UNIX, Maya, Mudbox, shell, and MEL scripting language
  • Background or experience in fine art, accompanied with a thorough understanding of physical motion, weight, balance, and form
  • 2-year diploma or 1-year certificate, or 2-3 years of experience

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary range: $26.44 to $36.32/hr (Associate) and $37.50 to $53.80/hr (Intermediate)
