Key Responsibilities
  • Greet Customers: Greet customers without delay when they enter the location, providing a warm and welcoming experience.
  • Answer Calls: Promptly answer the telephone in a friendly and courteous manner, taking messages, directing calls appropriately, and scheduling patient visits in an efficient manner.
  • Provide Product Knowledge: Determine the reason for the customer's visit, explain how to shop at Pearle Vision, and provide information on all required paperwork, tests, products, and services.
  • Review Prescriptions: Review prescriptions and patient information carefully, identifying special needs and consulting with optician, doctor, or retail management when necessary.
  • Handle Customer Interactions: Show patience and courtesy to indecisive or difficult customers and patients, demonstrating knowledge of appointment book/scheduling procedures and computer operation/procedures.
  • Process Transactions: Accurately operate the POS system, collecting proper payment following company security procedures and retaining proper change for a variety of transactions.
  • Maintain Store Appearance: Take pride in the appearance of the store, showing initiative in keeping displays clean, attractive, and organized.
  • Report Safety Concerns: Inform management of potential safety opportunities, ensuring compliance with all safety/regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • High School Graduate: High school graduate or equivalent experience.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Strong communicator and listener to customers and associates.
  • Basic Math Skills: Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Sales Skills: Sales skills and knowledge of store merchandise.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with cash register, computers, and calculators.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in customer service, retail, or optical.
