We are looking for an experienced **Grade Foreman/Surveyor** to join our team. As a grade Foreman/Surveyor you will utilize your skills in surveying, problem-solving, and team coordination to ensure successful execution of projects. **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Use survey equipment to establish & set grade for construction projects with the ability to read and interpret plans
- Set accurate grades, levels, and alignments for excavation, services, pipe laying, and other related tasks based on project drawings and plans
- Direct equipment operators to adjust grade by moving earth, gravel and other materials to achieve the correct grade
- Follow project plans and specifications to achieve the desired grade and slope
- Utilize topographic maps and Trimble GPS technology to plan and execute excavation, drainage and grading tasks accurately
- Prepare documentation of all surveying activities and maintain accurate records
- Calculates the layout of all project components using project drawings, specifications and submissions provided
- Maintain all surveying equipment
- Implement effective drainage solutions and stormwater management
- Manage trenching and excavation operations for all required services (septic, hydro, well etc)
- Proactively identify problems/issues and develop effective solutions
- Have an understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance and ability to work in and implement safe work practices and contribute to a safe work environment
- Collaborate with other members of the team, including supervisors, engineers, and equipment operators to coordinate grading activities and ensure project timelines are being met.
- Ensure to adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures
- Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
**THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES NEEDED**:
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Strong math skills and comfortable working with numbers
- Communicates clearly and concisely with the team
- Ability to quickly identify and resolve issues that may arise
- Can work under pressure and with tight deadlines
- Ability to read and understand civil construction and related drawings/documents
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
**YOUR QUALIFICATIONS **
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience
- Experience using Trimble GPS or other total stations
- CAD an asset
- Valid G level licence with minimum 3 years cleaning driving abstract
