About the Role

The Assistant Director of Human Resources will play a critical role in fostering the growth and success of the HR team, driving training, coaching, and motivation to team members, supporting positive labor relations, and promoting a collaborative work environment.

This dynamic position requires a passionate advocate for Hyatt's values and culture of care, inspiring others to embody these principles. In collaboration with the HR team, the Assistant Director will lead efforts to enhance the employee value proposition through areas such as growth and development, rewards and recognition, wellbeing, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

This role also involves shaping both short- and long-term HR strategy, creating a positive impact for all colleagues. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources, with a strong background in labor relations, recruitment, and onboarding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Delivering training, coaching, and motivation to team members
  • Supporting positive labor relations and fostering a collaborative work environment
  • Enhancing the employee value proposition through growth and development, rewards and recognition, wellbeing, and DEI initiatives
  • Shaping short- and long-term HR strategy
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Excellent interpersonal and coaching abilities
  • Sound experience working with Unions
  • Thorough understanding of collective agreements
  • Recruitment and onboarding experience
  • Experience in a dynamic, resourceful, and proactive talent & culture leadership role
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to promote and foster a consultative, problem-solving approach to labor relations
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment law, compensation, organizational planning, employee relations, health and safety, and training and development

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $82,000 - $85,000, depending on experience. You will also enjoy a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health and dental medical benefits, employer RRSP matching contributions, and complimentary hotel nights.
