This is a permanent position with Seaspan, a leading company in the shipping industry. We are seeking an experienced Strategic HR Consultant to join our team.

About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with various business units to deliver end-to-end Human Resources programs. Key responsibilities include case management of complex organizational issues, acting as a single point of contact for managers and employees, and collaborating with HR teams to build and implement standard methodologies.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Case Management: Responsible for managing complex organizational issues, including Respect in the Workplace investigations and performance management matters.
  2. HR Program Delivery: Acts as a single point of contact for managers and salaried and union employees to deliver end-to-end Human Resources programs.
  3. Methodology Development: Collaborates with HR Centers of Excellence and HR Business Partners team to build and implement standard methodologies that drive employee attraction, retention, and development.
Requirements
  • A degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or equivalent required.
  • A minimum of 5+ years of generalist HR experience, with at least 2 years of experience as an HR Business Partner in a complex unionized environment.
  • CPHR, SHRM, or equivalent certification preferred.

We offer a very competitive salary in line with the successful candidate's experience, ranging from $94,000 to $112,800 per year, depending on factors such as skillset, location, and internal equity. This role also includes an annual bonus and pension plan matching. The estimated salary range takes into account the market rate for similar positions in the North Vancouver area.
