Miller Law is a small, friendly, and busy law firm located in the Metrotown area.

We practice in the areas of Wills, Trusts, Estate Planning, Estate Administration, Corporate, and Residential Real Estate.

We are seeking a highly motivated Legal Administrative Assistant to join our busy office.

The ideal candidate is a confidential professional who takes pride in doing exceptional work and is self-motivated and enthusiastic.

We require someone who is highly organized, has strong attention to detail, an ability to work under pressure, and capable of multi-tasking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answering and directing telephone calls
  • Booking in-person and ZOOM appointments
  • Greeting clients
  • File opening, file maintenance, and organization
  • Drafting incoming and outgoing correspondence
  • Performing general office duties such as scanning, copying, and saving documents
  • Liaising with our Lawyer, Paralegal, and Legal Assistants on file progress
  • General administrative duties as required
  • Maintaining a bring-forward system, monitoring, and responding to deadlines, extensions, and other time-sensitive matters
  • Assisting with closing files
  • Conducting searches on BC Online and LTSA
  • Processing cheques, receipts, preparing client invoices, and daily deposits using a cheque scanner

**Requirements**

  • A college diploma or legal certificate (legal experience considered)
  • A minimum of three years of legal experience working in a law office
  • Experience in probate, trusts, estate administration, estate planning, and corporate services
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, confidentiality, and adapt to changing demands
  • Ability to handle the volume of a small, busy practice
  • Courteous and friendly interpersonal skills and telephone manners
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to set priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and an ability to multitask
  • A passion for providing superior client service
  • The ability to remain calm under pressure
  • The ability to manage a high volume of work in a fast-paced environment
  • A positive attitude with the willingness to learn
  • The ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Sound knowledge of Word, Outlook, and Excel
