Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Inventory Supply Coordinator to join our team at PHSA. As an Inventory Supply Coordinator, you will be responsible for maintaining and monitoring inventory levels, performing physical inventory counts, and identifying items for re-ordering. You will also be responsible for receiving, unpacking, and inspecting incoming supplies, and distributing them to allocated areas.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor levels of inventory supplies, including pharmacy-ward stock and sterile supplies, through physical inventory counts and scanning items for replenishment.
- Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming supplies, resolving discrepancies and returning damaged goods as needed.
- Sort and distribute supplies to allocated areas, issuing stock items from pick lists and loading supplies onto transportation carts or shelves.
- Respond to emergent situations by retrieving items from Stat Stores, Central Warehouse, or Sterile Supply Department, and delivering them to area personnel.
- Communicate with users when items are out of stock or when orders are incomplete or deleted, verifying back-ordered items and obtaining estimated time of arrival from the computer system.
- Process standardization product initiatives by switching out old product with new, changing PAR labels, and ensuring old product is returned to Central Warehouse or Vendor.
- Routinely rotate stock and inspect products for outdates, removing outdated products from Units and Stat Stores if found.
- Clean and maintain tidiness of storage shelves, counters, bedside/ward carts, drawers, and other equipment, removing stock, cleaning bins, and re-stocking in accordance with established levels.
- Receive incoming supplies, checking the quality and quantity of goods against orders and invoices/packing slips, and signing for all products accepted.
- Assist with the orientation of new staff by providing information regarding job duties and department procedures.
Requirements
- Grade 12 plus one year's recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with others effectively.
- Ability to organize own work.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
