Job Title: CN - Vendor Managed Inventory Specialist

At MSC Industrial Supply, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Vendor Managed Inventory Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers by implementing and managing Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs at customer locations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support MSC customer solutions and sales associates
  • Understand company solutions, products, and services, including limited technical product knowledge
  • Support the implementation of VMI programs at customer locations
  • Establish productive, professional relationships with key personnel in assigned customers
  • Maintain high customer satisfaction ratings that meet company standards
  • Unpack orders, check accuracy of shipment, and put stock away at customer locations
  • Ensure appropriate customer stock levels, generate new orders for merchandise, and obtain customer approval to place orders when required
  • Provide communication and feedback to the sales representative and supervisor as appropriate to ensure full customer satisfaction
  • Perform general (5S) housekeeping for service equipment and immediate area
  • Utilize company technology to complete daily tasks, order generation, tracking, and routing
  • Log all events daily within the Service Management tool
  • Participate in special projects and perform additional duties as required
Requirements:
  • A High School Diploma or the equivalent is required
  • Supply chain and process improvement experience preferred
  • Customer service experience, including one year of related industry experience, is preferred
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in word-processing and spreadsheet software is required
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills are also required
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • Position requires over 80% consistent daily travel within district. Occasional overnight travel is also required
  • May need to lift up to 50 lbs. based on customer needs
