Part Time Caregiver Support Specialist

About the Role:
Axis Family Resources Ltd. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part Time Caregiver Support Specialist to join our team in Lumby, BC. In this rewarding role, you will provide after-school support to a child with special needs, promoting a positive and healthy environment that fosters educational, social, and recreational growth.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one support to the child, assisting with daily life skills development and emotional regulation
- Develop and maintain healthy relationships with the child through trauma-informed practice
- Collaborate with other support staff to ensure seamless care and attention
- Contribute to creating a safe and inclusive environment that promotes resiliency and well-being
Requirements:
- Certificate or diploma in Community Services, Health Care Aid, Human Services, or related discipline
- 1-2 years' experience in social services, preferably working with vulnerable populations or behavioral challenges
- Reliable transportation and valid BC driver's license
- Knowledge of complex trauma, Autism, FASD, ODD, or other neurobiological conditions beneficial
- Clear Criminal Record Check (Agency conducted, expenses covered)
- Level 1 First Aid (including CPR) – provided by Axis

Compensation:
We offer an estimated annual salary of $45,000 - $55,000, commensurate with experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including extended health benefits, municipal pension plan, and employee assistance program. The position is part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, with opportunities for advancement and professional development within our organization.
