Heavy Duty Mechanics are a core part of our team, ensuring our equipment operates efficiently. Our Mechanics will troubleshoot, diagnose, maintain and repair mobile equipment to support the woodlands road construction and maintenance activities in a safe, timely, cost-effective and professional manner.
We're looking for a Certified Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our Southern Interior Woodlands Division. The Southern Interior Woodlands Team manages Tolko's tenure and fibre supply in the Southern Interior of British Columbia, covering an area of hectares. We are dedicated to sustaining these areas to the benefit of all who live and work there.
Our ideal candidate has the following qualifications:
- Experience working as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with a valid Interprovincial ticket or be eligible to successfully challenge the trades exam within six months from hire date.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving.
- Ability to read blueprints, diagrams and schematics and consistently follow work processes and procedures.
- You use your knowledge and skills to recognize opportunities for improvement and cost-savings.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and with a team.

In this role, you will:
- Use your knowledge and experience to troubleshoot, analyze, diagnose, lubricate and perform maintenance work on a variety of mobile machinery.
- Tackle equipment issues before they arise through preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Put safety first as you operate hoisting and lifting devices to position machinery and parts during the repair of mobile equipment and machinery.
- Inspect and examine equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions.
