Assistant Restaurant General Manager

Gecko Hospitality is seeking an experienced Assistant Restaurant General Manager to join our team in Kelowna, BC. As a key member of our restaurant management team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional service and hospitality to our guests while driving business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Take an active role in service during all operating hours, ensuring a high standard of quality in our Food and Beverage programs.
  • Coordinate pre-shift meetings with staff members to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Develop product knowledge through ongoing training and seminars to enhance our menu offerings.
  • Maintain daily communication regarding Food and Beverage details as they relate to service, ensuring our guests receive an exceptional dining experience.
  • Manage HR duties, including hiring, training, performance management, and schedule writing, to maintain a high-performing team.
  • Manage inventory and cost control to optimize profitability and minimize waste.
  • Foster relationships with regular clientele to increase guest loyalty and retention.
  • Balance daily cash and meet labor targets to ensure efficient operations.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of restaurant management experience, with a proven track record of success in a similar role.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, guest service skills, and oral/written communication skills to effectively train and motivate staff.
  • Strong computer and office administration skills to manage inventory, scheduling, and other operational tasks.
  • The ability to train effectively and execute a great guest experience, with a passion for food, beverage, and all things related to the restaurant business.
  • An ability to build and foster relationships, with a commitment to people development and growth.
  • Current First Aid, Serving It Right, and Food Safe Certification preferred but not required.
