We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Nurse Educator to join our team at Nova Scotia Health. As a Clinical Nurse Educator, you will be responsible for assessing, implementing, planning, evaluating, and supporting the application of existing and new clinical knowledge to support the translation of knowledge to practice.
You will demonstrate competency in practice, program design and implementation, monitoring and evaluation of education, leadership, and professional practice. You will also exhibit the knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors that align with the Interprofessional Practice and Learning Framework that supports collaborative person-centered care within Nova Scotia Health.
Utilizing professional standards, current evidence, and best practice guidelines, you will foster a culture of learning to build capacity and support the advancement of professional practice through the implementation of orientation and ongoing education programs that integrate a learner-centered approach.
You will provide advice, consultation, and support to advance practice and to maintain and develop evidence-based standards of care to optimize patient outcomes within the interprofessional care team.
About YouWe are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor of Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, and a Master of Nursing or Health Care/Education degree is preferred. You must have an active practicing license in good standing with the NSCN and a minimum of three years full-time clinical experience within the last five years facilitating Simulation-Based Learning.
Experience in Simulation-Based Learning and Teaching is preferred, as well as relevant CNA/other specialty certification. BLS-C (HCP) certification is required, and BLS-C (HCP) and/or ALS/ACLS instructor certification with Canada Heart and Stroke/American Heart Association is preferred.
Diploma or certificate in adult education is an asset, as is leadership development education. Previous teaching experience that involves designing, implementing, and evaluating both traditional and non-traditional methods of instruction is preferred, as is recent experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator/Nursing Instructor.
HoursThis is a permanent, full-time position with 75 hours bi-weekly.
Compensation and BenefitsThe salary range for this position is $49.80 - $59.44 hourly, with a maximum annual salary of $115,901. Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
