Nursing Educator

This is an exciting opportunity for a Nursing Instructor to join our team and contribute to the development of our nursing programs. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of entry-level and specialty level educational programming in accordance with our educational framework and provincial mandate.
As a Nursing Instructor, you will have the primary responsibility for facilitating learning according to the prescribed curriculum and working collaboratively with our Nurse Educator and Nursing Instructor IV to provide educational programming for nursing and interprofessional programs using face-to-face, simulated and online delivery methods, as well as at point of care education as a clinical instructor in the practice setting.
The successful candidate will promote the advancement of professional practice within our healthcare community and will have the opportunity to support the RN Bridging/Reentry Program with a particular focus on blended learning.
About YouWe are looking for a highly skilled and motivated individual with a strong background in nursing education and a passion for teaching and learning. The successful candidate will have:
- A Bachelor of Nursing/Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or equivalent)
- An active practicing license in good standing with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses (NSCN)
- A certificate course or CNA certification in Medical/Surgical nursing
- Certificate course in adult education (or equivalency)
- A minimum of two (2) years of recent and continuous clinical experience in Medical/Surgical nursing
- Current experience with classroom, online and skill/simulation teaching, including low to high fidelity simulation
- Current experience with coordinating and implementing skill and simulated based teaching and assessment methods
- Previous preceptor experience
- BLS for Health Care Providers certification
- Demonstrated recent professional development relevant to maintaining currency in practice and education
- Demonstrated ability to work with interprofessional groups of learners/employees in a variety of educational settings (e.g. classroom, online, lab, practice setting)
- Proficiency with computer skills and applications including Complete Microsoft Suite; internet browsers; Learning Management Systems; Web-based classroom and discussion boards
