Front Desk Associate

We are seeking a highly organized and customer-focused Front Desk Associate to join our team at Four Points by Sheraton. As a key member of our front office team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional guest service, managing room assignments, and ensuring a seamless check-in and check-out experience for our guests.
Key Responsibilities- Guest Services: Register arriving guests, assign rooms, and process group arrivals and departures.
- Front Desk Operations: Take, cancel, and change room reservations, process guest departures, calculate charges, and receive payments.
- Cash Handling: Balance cash, complete balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms.
- Inventory Management: Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments.
- Emergency Procedures: Follow emergency and safety procedures.
- Clerical Duties: Perform clerical tasks such as faxing, filing, and photocopying.
- Communication: Answer telephone calls, relay messages, and provide customer service.
- Special Needs: Assist guests with special needs and provide support as required.
- Wakeup Calls: Contact guests to deliver requested wakeup calls.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: Experience an asset.
- Language: English.
- Work Setting: Hotel, motel, resort.
- Client Focus: Provide exceptional guest service.
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Reliability: Demonstrate reliability and a strong work ethic.
- Team Player: Work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Accessibility: Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities.
- Recruitment: Apply accessible and inclusive recruitment policies that accommodate persons with disabilities.
- Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster.
- Support for Veterans: Recruit Veterans and other candidates with military experience through targeted hiring initiatives.
- Support for Indigenous People: Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
- Support for Mature Workers: Apply hiring policies that discourage age discrimination.
- Support for Visible Minorities: Apply hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities.
