Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at the City of Windsor. As a key member of our Transit Windsor department, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day garage operations, supervising maintenance staff, and ensuring the maintenance of all electronic transportation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Garage Operations Management: Assist in the management of garage operations, including supervision of maintenance staff and maintenance of electronic transportation systems.
  • Staff Supervision: Directly supervise maintenance staff in fleet and service line, and assist with building operations in the absence of Facility management staff.
  • Fleet Management System: Input and interpret information from the Fleet Management System to ensure accurate and efficient maintenance operations.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Perform maintenance and repairs to transportation systems, conduct diagnostic tests, and replace or repair as required to ensure the integrity of the transportation internal control systems.
  • Safety Inspections: Sign off on safety inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Inventory Management: Safeguard and properly record inventory and required supplies.
  • Training and Development: Provide training and direction to Transportation staff regarding log-ons and functionality of all transportation systems.
Requirements
  • Education: Ontario Secondary School Graduation Diploma or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalencies.
  • Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience in related skilled trade.
  • Certifications: Current 310T Truck and Coach Technician Certificate of Qualification or a 310B Auto Body and Collision Damage Repairer Br. 1 Certificate of Qualification or equivalent.
  • Driver's License: Current valid and lawful Class DZ driver's licence in accordance with the Highway Traffic Act.
  • Communication Skills: Good attendance record, unless otherwise resulting from a disability recognized under the Canada Human Rights Code.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of the Canada Labour Code Part II, Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, and hazards associated with the work.
