Position Overview: We are in search of a Project Architect who will collaborate closely with the Project Manager and Project Designer. This role is pivotal in ensuring project financial performance and effective team communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the issuance and content of project deliverables, ensuring technical accuracy in HOK documentation.
  • Coordinate with various disciplines, including consultants, while supervising the team responsible for document production.
  • Lead the implementation of Construction Phase Services in partnership with the Project Manager.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and integrate feedback into project documentation.
  • Ensure that the design intent established by the Project Designer is accurately reflected in detailed documentation.
  • Resolve technical issues and coordinate efforts for specific project segments.
  • Organize data within files and determine elements for inclusion in the Building Information Model (BIM).
  • Establish project team software parameters and uphold standards.
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with the Project Leadership Team.
  • Facilitate communication with other disciplines, vendors, and contractors to meet project requirements.
  • Ensure construction detail documentation adheres to quality assurance and best practice standards.
  • Supervise the preparation of technical drawings by junior architects or technicians.
  • Act as a team leader on designated projects.
  • Coordinate shared electronic documentation and files with the project team, clients, and consultants.
  • Assist in planning and conducting work, making necessary adaptations to complete working drawing sets.
  • Engage with municipal building departments and governing agencies for approvals or variances.
  • Provide technical support and project communications as needed.
  • Participate in site visits, field reviews, and project meetings.
  • Review contractor schedules and submissions of shop drawings and samples.
  • Support the Specification Writer in product research and material selection.
  • Contribute to specification setup and drawing coordination, utilizing HOK Standards.
  • Engage in team meetings to address project issues, technical challenges, and schedule adherence.
  • Review project costs and budgets, ensuring compliance with timelines.
  • Prepare 2D and 3D presentation drawings and models for team review.
  • Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects.
  • Participate in business development discussions targeting specific projects or clients.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems.
  • Proficient in Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Integrated Design Process (IDP).
  • Strong understanding of building codes and the ability to apply them in technical documents.
  • Expertise in hand and CAD drafting, with proficiency in Revit.
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling software such as Sketchup, Rhino, and Grasshopper is preferred.
  • Experience with graphic software like Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in architecture or equivalent experience is required.
  • Must be a licensed architect with current registration in the applicable region.
