OCAD University is seeking a qualified instructor to teach a course on Canadian Art: The Modern Era in the Faculty of Arts and Design.
Course OverviewThis course provides an in-depth examination of the development of modern art in Canada, from the 1920s to the 1960s. Students will explore the works of the Group of Seven, Quebec artists, and First Nations artists, and analyze the impact of modernism and high realism on Canadian art.
Responsibilities- Develop and deliver course materials, including lectures, critiques, and evaluations
- Prepare and deliver studio sessions, including health and safety protocols
- Meet academic and curricular requirements and deadlines
- Terminal degree in art, design, or relevant discipline
- Experience teaching at the post-secondary level
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership and experience promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment
Sessional appointments are fixed-term annual contracts. Compensation includes a per-course pay scale with salary level of $6,871.00 (per 0.5 credit course) plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay.
