**Job Title:** Sessional Instructor: Art and Feminism, Faculty of Arts & Science
**Job Summary:** We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Sessional Instructor to teach a course on Art and Feminism in the Faculty of Arts & Science at OCAD University.
**Course Description:** This course will introduce students to the impact of feminism on the production, reception, and exhibition of art. Topics to be addressed include the social construction of gender in art and visual culture; the confluence of race, class, and sexual identity; the critical reevaluation of craft practices; feminist contributions to the development of installation and performance art; and contemporary feminist art from a global perspective.
**Responsibilities:** The successful applicant will be responsible for teaching and teaching-related activities, including course outline development, studio preparation and delivery, grading, mid-term evaluations, and final evaluations/reviews. They will also be responsible for ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
**Qualifications:** The successful applicant should have a terminal degree in art, design, or a relevant discipline, and/or equivalent professional/practical experience. Experience teaching at the post-secondary level is considered an asset. The applicant should also have outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, and demonstrated leadership and experience promoting a respectful and inclusive work and learning environment.
**Terms of Employment:** Sessional appointments are fixed-term annual contracts. Sessional compensation includes a per-course pay scale with salary level of $6, per 0.5 credit course) plus 7% in lieu of benefits and vacation pay, per the provisions of the Employment Standards Act.
