About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated English Language Learning Specialist to join our team at the Abbotsford School District. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in providing a world-class educational experience for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement inquiry-based learning experiences that foster student engagement and exploration of complex concepts.
  • Develop and facilitate project-based learning opportunities that promote student autonomy and creativity.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of our students.
  • Utilize technology to enhance language acquisition and support student learning.
  • Assess and provide feedback to students using a range of formative and summative assessment strategies.
Requirements
  • Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Certificate from an accredited program.
  • Training and experience administering and interpreting IPT Assessments.
  • Familiarity with IELTS instruction and the BC ELL Standards.
  • Experience teaching ELL learners at the Secondary level.
  • Experience with individual and small group student support.
  • Eligibility for Abbotsford Academic English Language Program certificate and B.C. Certification.
