About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated English Language Learning Specialist to join our team at the Abbotsford School District. As a key member of our educational community, you will play a vital role in providing a world-class educational experience for our students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement inquiry-based learning experiences that foster student engagement and exploration
  • Develop and maintain a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective language acquisition strategies
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, using a range of formative and summative assessment strategies
  • Provide individual and small group support to students, using technology to facilitate language acquisition
Requirements
  • Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) Certificate from an accredited program
  • Training and experience administering and interpreting IPT Assessments
  • Familiarity with IELTS instruction and the BC ELL Standards
  • Experience teaching ELL learners at the Secondary level
  • Eligible for Abbotsford Academic English Language Program certificate and B.C. Certification
