Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified individual to join our team as an Instructor of Marine Engineering at the Marine Institute, part of Memorial University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and developing curriculum for our Marine Engineering Technology program, as well as other Transport Canada Certification programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver course materials and curriculum for the Marine Engineering Technology program;
  • Participate in the program review process and contribute to the development of new courses;
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback to students;
  • Collaborate with industry partners to ensure the programs meet their needs;
  • Advise students on work placement opportunities and career options;
  • Contribute to the development of online courses offered through the University's Learning Management System.
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in the marine transportation industry, a Transport Canada Certificate of Competency at the First-Class Engineer level, and an undergraduate degree in a relevant area to maritime studies. Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level is an asset.
