Job Summary

The Marine Institute at Memorial University is seeking a qualified faculty member to teach in the Diploma of Marine Engineering Technology program. The successful candidate will provide instruction in marine engineering courses, develop curriculum, and work with industry partners to ensure the program meets their needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach marine engineering courses to students in the Diploma of Marine Engineering Technology program
  • Develop and update curriculum to meet industry needs and program requirements
  • Work with industry partners to ensure the program meets their needs and provides relevant training to students
  • Evaluate student performance and provide feedback
  • Participate in program review and development

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience (minimum 10 years) in the marine transportation industry
  • Transport Canada Certificate of Competency at the First-Class Engineer level
  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant area to maritime studies
  • Previous teaching experience at the post-secondary level
