We are seeking an experienced Education Specialist to join our team at the Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay. The successful candidate will work directly with service users to ensure their education and rehabilitation in an institutional or external setting, in accordance with the intervention programs established in collaboration with the existing team of professionals.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education and rehabilitation, with experience working with individuals, families, and community organizations. They will be fluent in Cree and English, with fluency in French being an asset.

The successful candidate will be responsible for programming their own activities, observing and analyzing the behavior of service users, and participating in assessing their needs and abilities. They will also be responsible for recording progress and writing reports.

Requirements
  • Diploma of college studies in specialized education technique or delinquency intervention technique from a school recognized by the Ministère de léducation, du Loisir et du Sport.
  • Two years of pertinent experience.
  • Good knowledge of legislations Youth Protection Act and Youth Criminal Justice Act is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge and experience with autism and behavioral techniques.
  • Ability to communicate theoretical and practical knowledge, as applied to coaching and training.
  • Ability to work in collaboration with all colleagues.
  • Possess leadership skills in working with individuals and groups.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
