The Information Resource Specialist is responsible for executing technical functions related to the acquisition, management, and oversight of information assets. This role involves actively participating in the refinement and enforcement of existing policies, regulations, and procedures within the Documentation Centre. The specialist engages with users, providing assistance at the service counter and delivering reference services offered by the Documentation Centre. Additionally, the role encompasses various supportive tasks assigned to the Documentation Centre.

Employment Status: Unionized position – Permanent full-time

Work Schedule: Full-time – 35 hours per week

Compensation: ranging from $23.82/hour to $30.82/hour (based on the salary scale established in the collective agreement)

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Inputs data into integrated library management systems (PortFolio) for monographs, periodicals, and electronic resources; Conducts cataloguing (RDA), indexing (RVM), and classification (Dewey) of new acquisitions along with their corresponding descriptive records; Executes tasks related to document preparation across all formats (including stamping, anti-theft measures, marking, barcode application, and lamination); Undertakes various responsibilities associated with the selection and procurement of all documents (both physical media and databases): evaluating relevance and costs, bibliographic verification, supplier selection, and subscription renewals; Oversees budget management: reviews, collaborates, and monitors financial statements; Enhances collections and services. Participates in diverse projects initiated by the Documentation Centre. Develops and maintains guides, procedures, and reference materials for the use of the College's administrative personnel; Performs any other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma of Collegial Studies (DCS) in Documentation Techniques or an equivalent qualification recognized by the relevant authority; Relevant experience (experience in education is an asset); Proficient command of both French and English, in both oral and written forms; Strong familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PPT).

This position necessitates interaction with internal and external clients and partners on a national and global scale. Proficiency in the English language is therefore essential for this role.
