We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Educational Facilitator to join our team in Kelowna, BC. As an Educational Facilitator at Sylvan Learning, you will play a vital role in creating personalized learning experiences for students.

About the Role

This part-time opportunity involves teaching students using Sylvan program materials, evaluating student progress, and communicating effectively with center staff. If you are passionate about education and have excellent interpersonal skills, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare instructional sessions by gathering and preparing materials as necessary
  • Greet students and initiate instruction to engage each student personally
  • Instruct students according to the design of the Sylvan programs
  • Manage students, tasks, and time to create a balanced and robust instructional session
  • Evaluate and record student progress on their program assignments
  • Use praise and encouragement to motivate students and inspire a love for learning
  • Maintain accurate records of student tokens earned and completed learning activities
  • Communicate specific student needs to center staff and contribute to a positive learning environment
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A four-year degree or equivalent in a relevant field (Language Arts and Study Skills Program Teachers may require state or provincial teaching credentials)
  • Minimum one to two years of teaching experience preferred
  • Knowledge of phonics and reading comprehension preferred for reading teachers
  • Familiarity with general office equipment and tablet computers an asset
