About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced cook to join our team at Jukai Japanese & Thai. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality meals for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine food portion sizes and costs to ensure efficient kitchen operations
  • Plan menus and estimate food requirements to meet customer demand
  • Requisition food and kitchen supplies to maintain a well-stocked kitchen
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods to meet customer preferences
  • Train staff in food preparation, cooking, and handling techniques to ensure a safe and healthy food environment
  • Inspect kitchens and food service areas to maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization
  • Supervise kitchen staff and helpers to ensure efficient and effective kitchen operations
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies, and equipment to ensure accurate tracking and ordering
  • Clean kitchen and work areas to maintain a safe and healthy environment
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a kitchen or food service environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain attention to detail
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
  • Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively with colleagues
