About the Role

Seaport Intermodal is seeking a skilled Human Resources Payroll Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for processing and administering Seaport's exempt payroll process, managing employee benefits programs, and supporting the HR Manager in talent attraction, onboarding, learning and development, employee engagement, and performance management.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Payroll Administration
  • Process and administer Seaport's exempt payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Manage payroll software and systems, including data input and validation, calculation of wages, deductions, and taxes.
  • Review and verify payroll reports for accuracy before finalizing payments.
Benefits Administration
  • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other company perks.
  • Assist employees with enrollment, changes, and inquiries related to benefits.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records within the company HRIS.
HR Support
  • Support the HR Manager in talent attraction, onboarding, learning and development, employee engagement, and performance management.
  • Participate in all phases of the employee life cycle, from talent attraction to the end of employment.
  • Develop job descriptions and role postings to ensure consistency and alignment with talent attraction strategies.
Requirements
  • Certificate or diploma in Human Resources or related field.
  • 2+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably with ADP.
  • Strong working knowledge of Canadian Payroll Association standards, Canada Labour Code, and relevant Employment Standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
