About the Role

Gordon Food Service is seeking a highly skilled Sales Training Specialist to join our team. As a Sales Training Specialist, you will play a key role in creating, implementing, and conducting training programs that help our sales teams achieve their sales and career goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess Training Needs: Conduct surveys, interviews, and communicate with team members to identify organizational training and development needs.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Industry Trends: Stay current with the latest trends in learning and development to ensure our training programs are effective and engaging.
  • Design and Deliver Training Programs: Create, organize, plan, and present various forms of onboarding, orientation, and skills training to meet the specific needs of our team members.
  • Develop Unique Training Plans: Develop and acquire unique training plans and materials to fulfill the specific needs of our team members.
  • Use Various Learning Formats: Use various learning formats, including in-person and virtual training, experiential simulations, and videos, to engage our team members.
  • Evaluate Program Effectiveness: Maintain training and development KPIs and evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, surveys, and feedback.
  • Participate in National Training Council: Participate in the National Training Council to develop and maintain training materials for the sales force.
  • Deliver Gordon Food Service Training: Deliver Gordon Food Service training and track in the Learning Management System and provide expertise and training to others utilizing the learning management system (LMS).
  • Evaluate Training Effectiveness: Evaluate training effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
Requirements
  • Education: Degree or Diploma in Adult Education or related field preferred. Bachelor's Degree in Sales, Business, Adult Education, or related field preferred.
  • Experience: Two years of previous communications or training and development experience or an equivalent combination of education, selling skills training, and experience required.
  • Skills: Learning and Development, Learning Management Systems, and/or experience in adult education would be considered an asset. Ability to translate strategic initiatives into concrete objectives and action plans. Ability to develop presentations and skill using audio/visual equipment for presentations.
