Clinical Lactation Consultant Position

We are seeking a skilled Clinical Lactation Consultant to join our multidisciplinary team at Joseph Brant Hospital. As a respected leader in healthcare, we strive to provide exceptional patient care and experience.
Job OverviewThe successful candidate will possess a strong background in nursing, with a minimum of 2 years' experience working with the Maternal Newborn population. Certification as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant is mandatory. The ideal candidate will also have experience supporting families with breastfeeding and demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
In this role, you will work closely with our dedicated team to deliver high-quality patient care and support the hospital's commitment to excellence. You will be responsible for providing lactation consultations, education, and resources to patients and their families. Your expertise will play a vital role in helping us achieve our goal of becoming a Baby Friendly Initiative accredited hospital.
About the Role- Provide lactation consultations and education to patients and their families
- Develop and implement individualized plans to support breastfeeding success
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care
- Promote and educate staff on breastfeeding best practices
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to lactation services
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- A current Certificate of Competence in the Province of Ontario from College of Nurses
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as a lactation consultant
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Certification in Neonatal Resuscitation
