About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Layout Designer to join our team at Ausenco. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating high-quality mechanical layouts for our clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain mechanical layouts for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Design and develop 2D and 3D layouts using AutoCAD and other relevant software.
  • Produce high-quality design deliverables, including design criteria, drawings, and reports.
  • Manage and maintain design drafting standards across projects.
  • Lead and manage a team of layout designers to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Monitor and control layout budget hours and manpower loading.
  • Support proposal managers in providing input into proposals and estimates.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination and collaboration.
  • Ensure compliance with Ausenco's quality assurance and occupational health, safety, and environment policies.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Layout Designer with a strong background in mechanical engineering and design drafting. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Mechanical Engineering Technician diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in mechanical layout and design drafting for mineral processing plants.
  • Experience in layout design for studies and projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Prostructures 2D and 3D, and Smartplant.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel between locations as required.
