About the Role

Ausenco is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Layout Designer to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical layouts for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain accurate and detailed mechanical layouts using Autodesk products (Autocad, AdvanceSteel, Plant3D)
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design integrity and compliance with project requirements
  • Produce high-quality design deliverables, including design criteria, drawings, and reports
  • Manage and maintain design drafting standards across projects
  • Lead and mentor a team of layout designers to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Monitor and control layout budget hours and manpower loading
  • Support proposal managers in providing input into proposals and estimates
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination and ensure compliance with Ausenco's quality assurance and occupational health, safety, and environment policies
About You

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled Mechanical Layout Designer with a strong background in mechanical engineering and design drafting. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Mechanical Engineering Technician diploma or equivalent
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in mechanical layout and design drafting of mineral processing plants
  • Experience working in a large project, multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM environment
  • Strong knowledge of major mineral processing equipment and interconnecting equipment and chutework
  • Proficiency with Autodesk products (Autocad, AdvanceSteel, Plant3D)
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
