About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Layout Designer to join our team at Ausenco. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating accurate and detailed mechanical layouts for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain mechanical layouts for various projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of mechanical layouts with other design elements.
  • Produce high-quality design deliverables, including design criteria, drawings, and reports.
  • Manage and maintain design drafting standards across projects, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
  • Lead and manage a team of layout designers, providing guidance and support to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Monitor and control layout budget hours and manpower loading, providing forecasts and recommendations for improvement.
  • Support proposal managers in developing proposals and estimates, ensuring accurate and competitive pricing.
  • Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination and collaboration to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Comply with Ausenco's corporate policies and procedures, adhering to quality assurance and occupational health and safety standards.
About You

We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled Mechanical Layout Designer with a strong background in mechanical engineering and design drafting. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Mechanical Engineering Technician diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 15 years of relevant experience in mechanical layout and design drafting, preferably in a large project, multidisciplinary EPC/EPCM environment.
  • Experience in layout design of mineral processing plants for studies and projects.
  • Knowledge of major mineral processing equipment and interconnecting equipment and chutework.
  • Proficiency with Autodesk products, including Autocad, AdvanceSteel, and Plant3D.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to work well under pressure, meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality results.
