Senior Mechanical Layout Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Layout Designer to join our team at Ausenco. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for creating detailed mechanical layouts for our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain accurate and detailed mechanical layouts for projects
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design meets project requirements
- Produce high-quality design deliverables, including design criteria, drawings, and reports
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations, codes, and standards
- Manage and maintain design drafting standards across projects
- Lead and manage a team of layout designers to achieve project goals
- Monitor and control layout budget hours and manpower loading
- Support proposal managers in developing estimates and proposals
- Facilitate interdisciplinary coordination and collaboration
- Comply with Ausenco's quality assurance and occupational health and safety policies
We are looking for a highly experienced and skilled Mechanical Layout Designer with a strong background in mechanical engineering and design drafting. The ideal candidate will have:
- A Mechanical Engineering Technician diploma or equivalent
- At least 15 years of experience in mechanical layout and design drafting for mineral processing plants
- Experience in layout design for studies and projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Prostructures 2D and 3D, and SmartPlant
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel between locations
