Support Specialist for Deafblind Individuals

Supporting Deafblind Individuals in Their Daily Lives
Sensity Deafblind and Sensory Support Network of Canada is seeking a Support Specialist to join our team in London, ON. The ideal candidate will have a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program or a related human services field.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting individuals who are deafblind in their daily lives, including personal care and communication.
- Using communication techniques to relay information and empower individuals to participate in daily activities.
- Providing personal care as required, including lifts and transfers, toileting, and medication administration.
- Assisting with developing and supporting individual goals and objectives.
Requirements:
- College diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program or a related human services field.
- Experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviors.
- Communication in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).
- A valid driver's license, access to a reliable vehicle, and a clean current driver's abstract.
