About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and organized Emergency Department Unit Clerk to join our dynamic healthcare team. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient flow of communication between health professionals, departments, patients, and families while maintaining confidentiality of patient information.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing patient records and charts, transcribing and processing physician orders, scheduling patient tests and treatments, and performing a range of administrative activities in support of the unit. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage patient records and charts in accordance with established protocols
  • Transcribe and process physician orders accurately and efficiently
  • Schedule patient tests and treatments as required
  • Perform a range of administrative tasks in support of the unit, including reception and greeting duties
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will require completion of Grade 12 or equivalent, as well as an accredited Unit Clerk Course or equivalent training program. A one year unit clerk certificate with practicum component from a recognized post-secondary institution is also preferred. Exceptional communication and organizational skills are essential for this position.

Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is estimated to be $27.50-$33.35 per hour, based on the location and industry standards.
