About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Worker to join our team at Fraser Health Authority. As a Mental Health Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to our clients, promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assist clients with personal care, including toileting, bathing, skin care, grooming, dressing, and laundry.
  2. Perform housekeeping duties, such as wiping tables, mopping floors, and vacuuming.
  3. Maintain linen by sorting, laundering, folding, storing, and distributing.
  4. Assist the cook with food preparation, such as heating prepared food, making tea, coffee, toast, salads, and sandwiches.
  5. Drive or accompany clients to appointments and outings, and perform other related duties as directed by nurses.
  6. Obtain reports regarding facility and clients at the commencement of each shift, and communicate necessary tasks to the team.
  7. Clean and service the facility parkade and yard, performing various housekeeping duties.
  8. Provide feedback to the Care Leader or nurse on duty regarding client concerns, staff issues, or facility matters.
  9. Report facility issues, client condition, and behavior to professional staff to ensure quality client care.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 education.
  • Successful completion of a Community Mental Health Worker Certificate or Long Term Care Aide Certificate, or equivalent.
  • 6 months of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Food Safe Course - Basic Level.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and access to a vehicle.
