Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Care Worker to join our team at Fraser Health. As a key member of our care team, you will provide essential support to patients in a psychosocial rehabilitation setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist patients with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene
  • Escort patients to off-site appointments and provide transportation as needed
  • Participate in the stabilization, rehabilitation, and care of patients by providing personal care and teaching simple social skills
  • Monitor patients' status and report observations to the nursing staff and care team
  • Assist with mealtime and provide assistance with feeding as required
  • Participate in quality improvement activities and provide input and feedback on department initiatives
Requirements
  • Grade ten plus graduation from a recognized Mental Health Care Worker program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License with access to a personal vehicle for business purposes
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Ability to deal with others effectively
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position
