We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Youth Support Specialist. In this role, you will work with youth and young adults aged 17-24 who are in need of support and guidance. You will be responsible for connecting with clients, providing advocacy and support, and helping them access community services and resources.
Key Responsibilities- Connect with youth who are not accessing services and provide support and guidance to help them access community services and resources.
- Work with clients to identify their needs and develop individualized plans to support their goals and objectives.
- Provide advocacy and support to clients to help them navigate the mental health system and access necessary services and resources.
- Collaborate with other professionals and agencies to provide comprehensive support to clients.
- Develop and implement programs and services to support the needs of clients.
- Provide education and training to clients on topics such as life skills, independent living, and social skills.
- Assist clients in accessing and utilizing community resources and services.
- Provide crisis intervention and support to clients as needed.
- Document client progress and outcomes in a timely and accurate manner.
- Diploma in Child and Youth Care, Community Social Service Work, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Recent experience working with youth and young adults in a mental health or social services setting.
- Ability to provide or obtain necessary certifications and training, including First Aid and CPR, WHMIS, and FoodSafe.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and provide excellent customer service.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
