About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Disability Management Specialist to join our team in West Vancouver.

This is an exempt, temporary full-time position with 35 hours of work per week. The ideal candidate will have a passion for public service and a commitment to creating a complete, inclusive, and livable community.

Job Description
  • Develop complex case management plans to facilitate employee return-to-work;
  • Provide expertise on disability management through consultation and support;
  • Evaluate and maintain consistency of practices in compliance with legislation, collective agreements, and administrative regulations;
  • Collaborate with external contacts, including Workers Compensation Board (WorksafeBC) representatives;
  • Investigate workplace accidents and manage WSBC incidents and time-loss claims;
  • Effectively communicate with employees, managers, and external contacts to build trust and credibility;
  • Pro-actively collaborate with colleagues within the Human Resources & Payroll Services division;
Requirements

The successful candidate must possess:

• A degree or diploma in Business, Human Resources, or related field with a focus on Disability Management, Human Resources, and OH&S;

• At least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in Disability Management, preferably in a complex environment;

• Advanced knowledge of case management principles, relevant legislation, and best practices;

• Knowledge of non-occupational disability management practice and WorkSafeBC claims adjudication process.

Estimated Salary

$85,000 - $110,000 per annum, based on location and industry standards.
