African Kitchen Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team at Elyon African Kitchen. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, ensuring that our high standards of quality and service are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities- Food Sourcing and Inventory Management: Requisition food and kitchen supplies, ensuring that our inventory levels are adequate to meet customer demand.
- Team Leadership: Supervise and co-ordinate the activities of our kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are working efficiently and effectively.
- Menu Planning and Cost Control: Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation, and prepare budget and cost estimates to ensure that our kitchen operations are profitable.
- Customer Service: Address customers' complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner, ensuring that their needs are met and that they have a positive experience in our restaurant.
- Record Keeping and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage, and prepare and submit reports as required.
- Food Preparation and Presentation: Supervise and check the assembly of trays and the delivery of food trolleys to ensure that our food is presented in a visually appealing and appetizing manner.
- Work Scheduling: Establish work schedules for our kitchen staff, ensuring that we have adequate coverage to meet customer demand.
We specialize in African cuisine, and our kitchen manager will be expected to have a strong knowledge of this type of cuisine and be able to prepare and present dishes that meet our high standards.
Work Conditions and Physical CapabilitiesThis is a fast-paced environment, and our kitchen manager will be expected to be able to work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking. They will also be required to stand for extended periods and be able to lift and move heavy objects.
Personal SuitabilityWe are looking for a candidate who is a team player, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. They should be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be able to take initiative and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
