African Kitchen Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Kitchen Manager to join our team at Elyon African Kitchen. As a key member of our management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, ensuring that our high standards of quality and service are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities- Food Procurement and Inventory Management: Requisition food and kitchen supplies, manage inventory levels, and maintain accurate records of stock and supplies.
- Team Leadership and Supervision: Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Menu Planning and Cost Control: Estimate ingredient and supply requirements, prepare budget and cost estimates, and ensure that menu offerings are aligned with customer preferences and market trends.
- Customer Service and Relations: Address customer complaints or concerns, respond to feedback, and maintain a positive and welcoming atmosphere in the kitchen.
- Reporting and Record-Keeping: Prepare and submit reports on kitchen operations, sales, and inventory levels, and maintain accurate records of stock, repairs, and wastage.
- Food Safety and Quality Control: Ensure that all food preparation and handling procedures meet the highest standards of food safety and quality, and maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen environment.
- Education and Experience: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year, and 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
- Cuisine Specialties: African cuisine, with a focus on traditional and modern dishes.
- Specialization or Experience: Green economy sector, with a focus on sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.
- Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, combination of sitting, standing, walking, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling, and physically demanding.
- Personal Suitability: Client focus, excellent oral communication, flexibility, team player, initiative, and dependability.
