About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Care Paramedic to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a critical care specialist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Practice within the Advanced Care Paramedic scope of practice and demonstrate competencies in patient care.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to meet patient care needs.
  • Support patient care by maintaining and continually enhancing competencies through ongoing professional development.
  • Contribute to the efficiency and effective functioning of the department in meeting patient needs.
  • Support the development of colleagues and students by acting as a preceptor and providing ongoing mentorship.

Requirements:

  • Grade XII required.
  • Registered and licensed with the College of Paramedics of Nova Scotia (CPNS) required.
  • One (1) year of experience working as an Advanced Care Paramedic an asset.
  • Current BLS (HCP) Certification required.
  • Previous work experience in a hospital setting or emergency care preferred.
  • Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, patient assessment, and telecommunication skills.
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred.

What We Offer:

  • Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours bi-weekly.
  • Shifts may include days, evenings, nights, weekends & holidays.
  • $36.57 hourly.
  • Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
