Primary Care Paramedic

Nova Scotia Health is seeking a skilled Primary Care Paramedic to join our team at the Northern Zone, Colchester East Hants Health Centre. As a Primary Care Paramedic, you will play a vital role in providing support to Physicians and nurses, assisting in patient care, and working collaboratively with our team to deliver high-quality healthcare services.

About the Opportunity

  • Reporting to the Health Services Manager, you will be responsible for providing support to Physicians and nurses, and assisting in patient care.
  • Key duties include medication administration, IV initiation and fluid administration, blood work, CPR, urine analysis, and pregnancy testing.

About You

  • We are looking for a candidate with a Grade XII diploma and a Primary Care Paramedic Certificate or equivalent.
  • Licensure with Emergency Health Services Nova Scotia (EHSNS) to practice is required, as well as current BLS-C (HCP) certification.
  • Previous work experience in a hospital setting or in emergency care is preferred, as well as demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, patient assessment, and telecommunications skills.
  • Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are an asset.
