Emergency Medical Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Primary Care Paramedic to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Primary Care Paramedic, you will play a vital role in providing support to physicians and nurses, and assisting in patient care.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide medication administration, IV initiation, and fluid administration, as well as blood work, CPR, urine analysis, and pregnancy testing.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Develop and maintain effective communication and interpersonal skills to work with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date with the latest medical procedures and technologies.
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Grade XII required
- Completion of Primary Care Paramedic Certificate or equivalent
- Licensed or eligible for licensure with Emergency Health Services Nova Scotia (EHSNS) to practice
- Current BLS-C (HCP)
- Previous work experience in a hospital setting or in emergency care preferred
- Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, patient assessment, and telecommunications skills
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
