About the Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Primary Care Paramedic to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As a Primary Care Paramedic, you will play a vital role in providing support to physicians and nurses, and assisting in patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medication administration within the scope of practice
  • Initiate IVs and administer fluids
  • Conduct blood work, CPR, urine analysis, and pregnancy testing

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in healthcare, preferably with experience in a hospital setting or emergency care. You should possess effective communication, interpersonal, organizational, patient assessment, and telecommunications skills.

Requirements:

  • Grade XII required
  • Completion of Primary Care Paramedic Certificate or equivalent
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure with Emergency Health Services Nova Scotia (EHSNS) to practice
  • Current BLS-C (HCP)
  • Previous work experience in a hospital setting or in emergency care preferred
