About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Child and Youth Facilitator to join our team at Good Shepherd Centres. As a key member of our Community Support Services team, you will play a vital role in providing group programming and individualized support to children and families who have experienced trauma.

Working in collaboration with our LEAF Facilitator, you will deliver evidence-based programs such as LEAF and Mothers in Mind, and develop unique programming in partnership with community stakeholders. Your expertise will help children and families recover from trauma, and you will be part of a passionate and innovative team that makes a real difference in the lives of those we serve.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage children in individualized counselling and therapeutic interventions to address emotional and physical responses to trauma
  • Liaise and coordinate with external agencies to deliver joint programming and support services
  • Facilitate groups for various age ranges, including planning and hosting in-service and community-based public education and awareness events
  • Collect and analyze statistical information for internal and external reporting requirements
  • Participate in team meetings and case consultation to ensure seamless service delivery
Requirements
  • One year of group facilitation experience and a completed post-secondary education in child and youth or social services
  • CPR/First Aid certification is required; ASK suicide prevention training is an asset
  • A valid Ontario driver's license (G) and ability to drive Good Shepherd vehicles is required
  • Ability to speak French and/or other languages is considered an asset
  • A flexible schedule and commitment to anti-racist/anti-oppressive practice are essential
